 RULES AND INFORMATION

PRINTABLE VERSION

Durhamtown has designed this series to not only be a fun experience but a learning one for the kids as well.  It will give kids a taste of what racing is all about.  We are here to promote a SAFE, fun and affordable race for kids.  Through the last several years our series has grown tremendously.  With that, Durhamtown would like to thank all the riders and the parents that support our series.  We try our hardest to make it the best experience possible for all involved. We have made some changes so please read thoroughly.

Rules:

AGE – 12yrs old and under *If your child turns 13 yrs old during the course of the series, he/she will be allowed to finish the series out.  Provided he/she was 12 yrs old (First Race) at the time you registered them for the first time during this series.*(Supermini class will allow a child up to 15 yrs old to race in this Series)

CHANGING CLASSES – If you choose to move your child up a class he/she will be allowed to carry 75% of his/her points up.  If you move your child down a class, no points will be carried down. In the case of any racer in any beginner class, wins 1st place in three consecutive races, or appears to be misplaced; (Example) If a Beginner’s lap time is faster than an average Advanced rider: he/she can or may be moved to the advanced class. He/she will carry no points into the next class. Points earned in the beginner class will remain there. If the “racer” has won 2nd place or better in the Beginner Class in our last Series Championship; he/she will need to register in the Advance Class.

REGISTRATION-We now offer two ways to register, in person and online.  We would like to encourage online registration. It simplifies the process for all of us.  If you register online, all you will have to do on race day is come to the lodge and pick up your packet which contains your receipt and race band.  There are no long lines to wait in.  You get first priority.  Simply go to our website www.durhamtown.com and click on the link for Youth Motocross Series Registration. ALL registration ends at 5pm Saturday night for walk-in registrants and 3:00pm for online registrants.  There will be no exceptions what so ever.

*Each class will run 2 motos. Every rider is scored on how they placed in each moto. Then you combine the riders’ placement to get the total. If in the event of a tied total score the last moto which is the main event is the tie breaker. For example:
Rider #1 in the 1st moto gets 1st place and in the second moto he gets 3rd place. His total would be 4. Rider #2 gets 2nd in the first moto and 2nd in the second moto, his total would be 4. Being Rider #2 ranked higher in the main event he would get 1st place overall.
*In the event a class is too large and they have to run qualifiers they are only scored on the Main Event. Qualifiers are broken down into two qualifying heat races. The top 5 out of each heat race advances to the Main Event. All others get to run in the Last Chance Qualifier. In which the top 4 will advance to the Main Event. This giving the Main Event a total of 14 riders.

         Championship Points & Qualifying

To Qualify for Championship, the racer must participate in 11 of 14 races to Qualify for Championship. If a Racer races all 14 of the scheduled races; he/she will drop their lowest 3 scores.

On the last Race of the Series, the Racer will receive double points. (Example)

Racer X  in his 1st moto gets 1st place=25pts

 Racer X  in his 2nd moto gets 2nd place=22pts

Racer X  Total Points=47 x 2 =94pts (Championship Race/16th Race Only)
