For $1500, you and your spouse and children thru high school can come to DP and hunt, fish and ride for one whole year! 8000 acres located in Greene-Taliaferro-Oglethorpe counties  (one track of land) 6 miles of river bottoms, hardwoods and pine fields. We have prepared approx 30 food plots approx 60 stands & shoot houses that are available to all members.  You may also set your own stands we have 2 on staff hunting guides to provide tips, recommendations and any assistance you may need.  We specialize in  family hunting opportunities.

Many stands/shoothouses will hold 3 hunters comfortably. DP manages our deer herd on a 6-pointer or better policy. Our land is abundant with Whitetail Deer-Eastern, Turkey-Wild, &  Boar-Duck (mainly Woodies some Mallard) and Geese plus lots of small game with our new addition, the  Amadillo.

Durhamtown has generations of family that have survived from the abundant wildlife. Today it still is a means of survival. We offer a walk in cooler, processing area for your convenience. We have a year round RV Park , Restaurant, Pro-shop, shooting range, lodging and a  27 acre trophy Bass managed lake and a 3.5 acre catfish/bream pond. We have just stocked our ponds with the new TIGER BASS STRAIN from Mexico. This bass can gain as much as 3 lbs / year.  We also offer  a 1/2 acre kiddy  pond that is fully stocked.

DEER

We average approx 30-35 deer / sq mile. We supplement feed off season and provide minerals year round.

DP requires a minimum of 6 points or better from all Bucks----(penalties for spikes - 5 pointers)---

(State allows one deer to be a spike or 4 pointer but not at DP)

  State law says 1 buck must be 4 points on one side or better

TURKEY

We have an abundant supply of Eastern Wild Turkey all over the property with 6 miles of hardwoods along the North Fork and South Fork of Little Rivers offering plenty of food plots to feed on and  part of the property is our Dairy farm with fields of clover and fertilized fields.

WILD HOG

The Hog population moves up and down the rivers all the time. Currently,  they are abundant over at the dairy farm  and are also scattered along the rivers  feeding on acorns.

DUCK

With 6 miles of river bottoms and many beaver swamps;  the woodies are all up and down the river, feeding on acorns early in the season. In the  later part; they are feeding on the grasses in the swamp and beaver ponds. With all duck hunting, it depends on the cold weather from up north for our best hunting. We see Mallards and Ringnecks on the 27 acre lake  when the weather is bad up north.

There are resident geese around all of the time feeding on the wheat at the dairy and also feeding in the lake.     

Some days are great and some are bad  just like Arkansas.......   it is called duck hunting....

SMALL GAME

Lots of squirrels, rabbits, coons and now armadillos to punt, you will occasionally get flustered by a covey of quail busting up. We do not hunt them...       

We average 45 family memberships  on the property with a few guided hunts throughout the season ($150/DAY)   PLUS LODGING AND MEALS

There is 4000 acres of hunting only...with no riding trails.... just hunting trails for the members. We also hunt the riding areas from daylight to 9:30am. When  the riding trails close at 4:30pm, then the hunters are allowed to hunt till dark  (HUNTING IN THE RIDING AREAS IS THE BEST HUNTING  BECAUSE THE DEER ARE ACCLIMATED TO THE HUMAN ELEMENT ALL YEAR LONG  AND ARE NOT SPOOKED BY THE HUNTERS. THEY JUST STAND AND LOOK AT YOU, LIKE THEY DO THE RIDERS. SIMILAR TO THE BEHAVIOR FROM  DEER ON LOCAL GOLF COURSES)
