Features
Suitable
For: Motorcycles, ATV's, and Mountain bicycles. These are a series of
trails, several of which have spurs that dead-end. Directions:
From Ellijay: take GA 52 east to
Roy Road (Gilmer County Rd. 16) 7.5 miles. Turn left, go 7.4 miles to
Tickanetly Creek Road. Turn right past church, continue on road. Bear
right at fork and descend to creek crossing on concrete bridge, 1.8 miles
from church. Turn left on dirt-gravel road and go 1.8 miles to junction
with Forest Service Road #357. Follow FS357 to designated OHV trails.

For: Motorcycles, ATV's, and 4x4's. Many of the trails in this area are
classified as difficult to most difficult. Beasley Knob is recommended for
expert level riders only. Directions There are
three parking areas from which to enter the ORV area. Beginning on US
76/APD Hwy. 515 in front of the Blairsville Post Office, go east for 0.7
mile. Turn right onto Windy Hill Road, a paved road. At 0.7 mile when
Windy Hill curves sharply to the left, go straight onto a gravel road.
After 0.1 mile, turn left onto a narrow gravel road, Forest Service Road
#851. Continue on this 0.8 mile to the ORV Area parking lot. |

Suitable
For: ATV's and motorcycles only. Riders must stay on trail; cross-country
riding is not allowed. This trail is considered easy and is recommended
for young or inexperienced rider and for persons accustomed to riding on
flat to rolling terrain. Directions
Beginning
at the traffic light at the intersection of US 76/APD Hwy. 515 and US
19/129, go north on US 19/129 for 1.8 miles. Turn left onto Pat Colwell
Road and go 8.4 miles. Turn right onto a gravel road at Ken's Body Shop
sign. At the foot of the hill, turn right onto Forest Service Road #143.
Follow the gravel road a total of 0.5 mile to the parking lot on your
left. You can enter the trail behind the parking lot or across the road.

For: Motorcycles and ATV's only. No trucks or 4x4's allowed on the trails.
Directions From 1-75,
take the Ringgold/Lafayette exit (Exit 140). Travel south on GA 151 for 7
miles. Turn left at Nickajak Gap Road and go across Taylor's Ridge. Turn
right onto Capehart Road and travel 1 mile until pavement ends. Parking
area is on left at the beginning of the Forest Service gravel road.

Features Suitable
For: Motorcycles, ATV's, and other smaller vehicles. Maximum width not to
exceed 48". Designated trails in this area range from easy to highly
difficult. Users are encouraged to stay on the signed trails to prevent
damage to the area. Locust Stake Road is a county road. All state and
local motor vehicle laws apply to this road. Directions Take GA
Hwy. 365 North from Cornelia approximately 10 miles and go right/north on
US123/GA17. Drive 1.8 miles and turn left on the county road (Rock Road).
Travel .01 mile to first gravel road on the right (Locust Stake Road).
Turn right, travel 1.5 miles to parking and unloading area on the right.

For: Motorcycles and ATV's only. 4x4's and trucks not allowed on the
trails. This trail forms a loop as it Intersects with Forest Service Road
#376 at the Parking Area. It also Intersects with Oakley Mountain OHV
trail at the Habersham/Rabun County line. Directions Take GA
197 approximately 13 miles north of Clarkesville. Turn left on county road
(Stonecypher Road). Travel 2 miles on gravel county road to Forest Service
Road #376, Raper Creek Road. Turn left on Raper Creek Road and travel 2
miles to end of road for parking and unloading. |

For: Motorcycles, ATV's, and vehicles with less than 48" axle width. This
trail is near Lake Burton and Lake Rabun. It is not a loop trail so
traffic is two-way. Some sections are steep (35% grade) and rocky. There
are also many blind curves on the trail. Under age a legally licensed
driver should accompany riders, who do not have a State driver’s license.
Directions North
Parking Lot: From Clayton, go west on Hwy 76 for 6.8 miles. Turn left on
Charlie Mountain Road until it dead-ends. Turn right on Bridge Creek Road
for 2 miles until it dead ends at Lake Burton Dam Road. Turn right for 1.6
miles to entrance road on left. |

trails. This is a loop trail that offers a challenging riding experience
through scenic terrain. Directions From
Atlanta (Marietta): I-75N to exit 293. Take exit 293 and turn right on Hwy
411. Continue on hwy 411 for approximately 37 miles. Turn Right on Hwy 52
E. Go 1 mile on Hwy 52 E and turn Right onto Old Federal Road. Drive 3.5
miles and turn left onto Peeples Lake Road. Peeples Lake Road will become
dirt and will fork at 2.2 miles. Take the left fork. Travel another 3.2
miles to the Parking Area. |

safe riding experience with many sharp curves. Directions From
Crandall, go east 3 miles on Mill Creek Road (Forest Service Road #630).

forest environment. Town Creek has two one-way, looped trails - please
observe trail rules. Loop A is rated "Most Difficult" and loop B is rated

(Wahsega Road) toward Camp Frank D. Merrell. Go 3.9 miles to dirt Forest
Service Road #662; turn left into OHV parking area. |

Trail. This stretch is designated as Easy, with slight uphill climb with
plenty of jumps (water bars). Be on the lookout for oncoming traffic, as
speeds can get high on this section. Designation: Easy.
Directions Take US
411 north from Chatsworth for 4 miles; turn right (east) at the traffic
light at Eton and go approximately 5 miles. Turn left on Forest Service
Road #218 (Muskrat Road) and travel 3 miles to trailhead. |

No Features Tellico is
an unusual place, loaded with rocks of all sizes from small to extremely
large and H2O seems to be present all year. The riding is easy on most
roads and difficult to very difficult on some roads. The difficult roads
were roads that were littered with rocks the size of your coffee table or
steep inclines with 3' to 4' vertical rock faces in the middle of the
climb. Directions Directions
to Upper Tellico = Tennessee side is paved road all the way. Begin : Near
Murphy N.C. @ Hwy 19/129 and Hwy 64 go on Hwy 64 W 2 miles; then go Hwy
294 N 14 miles; then go Hwy 68 N 23 miles; then Hwy 165 E 5 miles to a
Ranger Station sign where you will turn right onto a unmarked paved road.
Then go 18 miles down this paved road to Stateline Campground and the ORV
pay fee area or entrance to Upper Tellico. Distance from Murphy is 1.5
hours. By the way, there is a motel on this road leading to Stateline
Campground called Green Cove Motel (615-253-2069, 2 double beds for $39).
The motel is on the creek. |
